Turbotron
Series
The
Turbotron range of high energy, centrifugal disc
finishing machines are used for fast, aggressive
metal removal and rapid cut down operations on
small to medium sized components. However, through
the use of special processing techniques, Turbotron
disc machines can also be used for smoothing
and high lustre polishing - even on extremely
delicate components.
Turbotron
disc finishing machines feature a rotating disc
in the bottom of a cylindrical work bowl that
generates a centrifugal force on the work mass.
This centrifugal force pushes the parts and media
to the periphery of the bowl where it is forced
up the stationary outer wall bowl before falling
back to the centre under the natural force of
gravity. This continuous vortex-like motion
results in a highly efficient process and therefore
process times far shorter than can be achieved
in conventional vibratory finishing machines.
Separation
of parts and media is accomplished by tilting
the work bowl over an external separating device.
With larger models, part separation and return
of the media into the work bowl is automated.
